font style

After the English printer and type founder John Baskerville (Wolverley 1706 Birmingham 1775).

Baskerville revolutionized typography through the beauty of the letters he used. He also invented vellum paper. In 1756 he made his name with an extraordinary edition of Virgil's work.

The French playwright Beaumarchais purchased the basker ville font in 1779 to publish Voltaire's collected works.
